2 - Cockatiels

This is my family's pet cockatiel. Her name is blossom, but everyone calls her Fluffy, because she's so fluffy. How we ended up with her in our house was actually unintentional. My oldest sister loves birds (and so do I) so one day, without anyone else in the family knowing, she went to the pet store with the intention to buy a cockatiel, so she did (See image above.) Initially she kept this bird at a friend's house in our neighborhood who raises hundreds of cockatiels as a hobby. As soon as my parents found out about this incident, though, they told her to go ahead and bring the cockatiel so our home.

Fluffy was very quick to decide who she liked and didn't like. It's a very typical thing for a cockatiel to do. She decided she loves me and all of my brothers, and hates my parents and all but one of my sisters. Honestly, my mom treats her the nicest out of all of us, but nonetheless, Fluffy is terrified of her. I enjoy rubbing Fluffy's neck and feeding her treats, as she gets becomes quite fluffy and satisfied when this is done. Whenever I sit down to play a video game in the same room as her, Fluffy will always end up flying onto my shoulder within a minute, then as she loves to do, she will fluffy up really fat on my shoulder. It only becomes annoying when her toe nails have become so long that they reach through my shirt and grasp my shoulder... ouch.

But having Fluffy on my shoulder, unless I'm playing a really hardcore game, is usually an enjoyable experience. I honestly miss having her around now that she's over 1450 miles away. She's created a lot of enjoyable experiences for us as a family, like when she starts chewing one someone's homework and someone yells to get the bird away from their possessions. Too cute!

So ya, having a cockatiel is like having a flying puppy that chews on almost anything in existence at any height in the room, so it's a lot of fun to have Fluffy around to keep us busy.
