1 - Stories that bind

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints, reading world studies on the effectiveness of family mealtime really connected personally with me. Growing up, I have never had a family dinner. My family just doesn't do that, unless required to for a school project or occasionally during Thanksgiving or Christmas. That gap of family meal time was filled, quite honestly, by video games. Me and my 7 siblings have had some of the greatest bonding moments when we're completely wrecking each other in a virtual world by means of controllers, keyboards, and mouses. Even if we are arguing with each other and freaking out about somebody about to win a big game, we (most of the time) come out afterwards feeling more closely attached to each other as a family.

Social media (which for me is mostly online gaming,) is an amazing invention which Elder Bednar recommended for spreading the gospel in this modern age. I have made posts about my religion on game websites as a profile status or description, and I just feel great about doing it. Online games are also a way that I keep current with my family members throughout the United States. I grew up in Texas, and as such, I often miss my home and wish to head back instantaneously. But of course that isn't possible, yet. I still wonder if teleportation will be a thing in the near future. But as I was saying, I keep connected with my family through games and servers (I am really good at figuring out how to host game servers now, it's lit) and online face time conversations which help to make it seem almost as if my family is still right beside me, even though we are over a thousand miles apart.

Technology is an amazing field in which 100% of my direct family members indulge for information and entertainment. Not to anyone's surprise, I am going to major in Computer Engineering and join the inventors and innovators of today as we further develop and create new and outstanding inventions in technology!
