3 - Blue Bell Ice Cream

For any of you who don't know or haven't at least heard of this, I fear for your well-being. Although that probably means you haven't become addicted to ice cream, because Blue Bell is the only surefire way to become addicted to any ice cream flavor or company. Here's the scoop: Blue Bell is the third most popular selling Ice Cream company in the United States, and it is only sold in the southeastern United States, Arizona, and northeastern Colorado.

Recently I went shopping with one of my sisters and a brother in Provo, where I complained in the Ice Cream isle about the lack of Blue Bell on any of the shelves. Ever since moving here to Utah, I have been suffering from the deprivation of this amazing treat. I'm from Texas, the headquarters of Blue Bell Ice Cream at the Little Creamery in Brenham, Texas. I have visited the facility several times on family vacations, and, well it looks like an ice cream factory.

Blue Bell is the most delectable, creamy, amazing ice cream the human race has ever experienced, and has a story of its own in my family. When I was young and naive, I thought that Party brand ice cream was the best thing in the world. To my mom's disappointment, my oldest sister received a pint of Blue Bell Ice Cream Homemade Vanilla flavor for donating blood at a local blood donation office. She shared a little bit of it with each of us, her siblings, and that began the legacy of Blue Bell Ice Cream in my family. Ever since then, I could not be satisfied with anything else. Blue Bell Ice Cream was simply too good - nothing could possibly compare with this delicious treat. The containers are not sealed by any binding, the lid is just squeezed into the top so hard that a vacuum between the lid and the ice cream keeps the container sealed shut extremely securely, and consequently each container is overfilled with ice cream - everything is bigger in Texas, and I kid you not. Restaurant food, ice cream sizes, the phrase rings true.

So now, whenever family members come to visit home or one of my siblings finishes a big school project or competition, we celebrate by buying any flavor of Blue Bell Ice Cream, typically Homemade Vanilla, Cookies and Cream, or The Great Divide (half Homemade Vanilla and half Dutch Chocolate.) We simply can't get enough of this every growing and new flavor making, amazing ice cream company.
