I just want to put it out there that there's a difference between being good with computers and being good with word processors. I believe the two are completely different fields of study. English technical education people know nothing about programming but are proficient with word processing, while Computer engineers and scientists know nothing about word processing but are proficient with programming. If you ask them how to add a breakpoints in Visual Studios, JCreator, Eclipse, NetBeans, or any other IDE, they've got you. But if you ask them how to put a double ended arrow symbol for a chemical reaction into a Chemistry lab report, question does not compute.
I don't mean to say I don't like being asked how to do these things; No, I often enjoy the attention people give me in that respect. I'm just saying I probably won't be able to help out. My siblings get these questions too. As we are programmers, everyone thinks we're good at word processing. Pls. We're not.
Now since we're on the topic of Word processing (capitalization intentional) and my blog is called The cringyness is real, I just wanted to paraphrase a conversation I had with a friend in High School once.
"Hey, do you Excel at editing text documents?"
"Well, no... what's your PowerPoint?"
"Nothing much. I say we should have a Word about how to become better."
"Eh, I'll probably only take OneNote though."
With that, hope you have a good Outlook on life everybody.
