6 - Research Thesis blog

I am currently not very far along on my research paper. I managed to find a family story that I found to be pretty cool, but I don't find any particularly interesting questions in reading the story.
The story is of my great-great-grandpa, Henry Jensen, born in New Zealand, who left school early on to help his family run their farm. From doing this, he learned an excellent work ethic, and when he later moved to America, he reaped a ton of reward in land ownership by farming and ranching to make a lot of money.
The only questions I can really think of from this story is what makes some immigrants more successful than others, though the answer already seems to be that my ancestor had a good work ethic. Writing 8 pages about that would be nearly impossible. Though that's basically what I did with the Gettysburg Address. I'm thinking of going through with this topic, though I will have to study a lot of other facts about immigrant success.
So far I have no sources. I tried looking into the benefits of dropping out of school early, in hopes of finding better work ethic and innovating as a result, but I only found articles on how to stop kids from dropping out. Useless.
My goal is to spend time at the last minute on Tuesday to look for a ton of sources. I'll probably work on it earlier, but I am feeling overwhelmed by the amount of work I have from this class stacked up with others.
My thesis so far is extremely basic, just stating that I will be analyzing the success of immigrants by analyzing their work ethic, where they came from, the time they came, and things like that.
